Spring 2013 Gospel Meeting - Brother Josh Tolbert
Sunday, April 21 - Wednesday, April 24, 2013
Sunday Morning Bible Class - "Evidences"
This sermon discusses questions regarding the reliability of the Bible as a historical document. Brother Tolbert uses history and the Bible to prove that the Bible is, in fact, an accurate history concerning the life, death, and resurrection of Christ and that the New Testament that we have today is an accurate copy of the manuscripts penned by the original authors.

Sunday Morning Sermon - "Getting More Out of Assemblies"
Brother Tolbert presented the sermon, “Getting More Out of Our Assemblies,” on Sunday morning. Using scripture, he proposed many things that we, as Christians, can do to get more out of our weekly worship services. By doing things like engaging ourselves in the services, sitting toward the front, focusing on the lessons, and attending every service available, we can learn to serve the Lord with gladness and find happiness in the result of having a strong relationship with God. By the end of this study, we hope that you can say, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’” (Psalm 122:2)

Sunday Evening Sermon - "The Way"
In the early days of the New Testament, the church was known as people of "The Way.” In this sermon, Brother Tolbert examines scripture and discusses the deeper meaning of what “The Way” truly was and still is today.
Monday Evening Sermon - "What Must I Do to be Saved?"
This sermon is primarily for those outside of the church. It answers the question “What must I do to be saved?” just as the people on the day of Pentecost asked in Acts 2:38. Brother Tolbert examines whether or not faith alone is enough to be saved and how (Biblically) we are able to get into Christ and, therefore, into His church, thereby obtaining salvation.
Tuesday Evening Sermon - "Now, What Must I Do to be Saved?"
In this sermon, Brother Tolbert goes to God’s Word to find out how we can maintain our salvation after baptism. He discusses the vulnerability of a new babe in Christ and how Christians can encourage them so that they don’t fall away, becoming “again entangled in the world” (2 Peter 2:20). He proposes things that new and old Christians alike can do to resist temptation and continue in the path of righteousness.
Wednesday Evening Sermon - "Encouraging Questions"
Brother Tolbert presents an interesting lesson on questions. Questions are important to examine our own lives, to test those who teach God’s word, and to keep fellow Christians in check. He discusses the fact that we are often afraid of questions and this usually stems from lack of knowledge in the scripture (Hosea 4:6). We must encourage questions to help keep us motivated to study so that we’ll always have an answer. There are also ways that we can present ourselves to encourage others to ask spiritual questions of us. We need to encourage questions and grow in our knowledge of our Lord.
